Welcome to The Cookie Jar Project, our giftable holiday giving project in support of The My Stuff Bags Foundation — a provider of new belongings, comfort and hope to thousands of children who must be rescued from abandonment, abuse, domestic violence, homelessness and neglect across the United States every year.
1. The Project
Supernatural commissioned nine single-edition cookie jars from emerging, global ceramicists. The cookie jars were not donated, and the artists were aware their work would be resold as a special collection benefitting The My Stuff Bags Foundation. We’re proud this project allowed us to support artists making art, in addition to an incredible cause.
2. The Jars
From Barcelona’s Minx Factory, to the intricate, sculptural work of Summer Strutt, to the psychedelic ceramics of Harry Malesovas, each cookie jar represents a distinct style and a unique representation of the current state of ceramics. 3. The Impact
100% of cookie jar sales will fund the creation of My Stuff Bags — cute, individual duffels filled with new essentials — for children who arrive at shelters with little or nothing of their own. These bags are theirs to keep, and contain both basics and comfort items, like clothing, toys, a stuffed animal, school supplies, toiletries, and a warm security blanket.
4. Other Ways To Help
The My Stuff Bags Foundation has distributed over 500,000 My Stuff Bags to date. Each bag costs about $30, and you can help build more bags and fund their current urgent needs with a tax-deductible donation (just click here, and we’ll take care of the rest).
Every year hundreds of thousands of children in the United States are rescued from abuse, neglect, domestic violence and homelessness. Tragically these children often enter into foster care or crisis shelters with little to nothing of their own.
During what is an unimaginably traumatic transition into foster care or crisis shelters, each My Stuff Bag is a tangible demonstration that reassures these children that they are valued as individuals, and that their personal belongings deserve the same care and dignity that they do.
